This past weekend, I was in Chicago and while I was there I decided to visit a couple of the 1930s historical landmarks featured in my second mystery novel “Midnight’s Murder”. The Berghoff Restaurant is a personal favorite and the staff was extremely helpful with my research and answered all the questions I had to help keep the story historically accurate (I even gave the owner a copy of the book and signed it as a small thank you).
I donated a copy of “The Devil You Know” and “Midnight’s Murder” to the largest library in the state the Harold Washington Library (and boy did I wish I had the time to explore it all).
Next, I stopped in the breathtaking Palmer House and if you ever get the chance to visit the lobby, DO IT! So beautiful!
Finally, I went to the Marshall Field building (Currently Macy’s) and saw the tree in The Walnut Room Chicago (formally the Walnut Grill).
Such an amazing time!
Don't worry though, I'm still working on the next book in The Hill File Series, "The World's Unfair". It is coming together, so stay tuned!
If you haven’t already, pick up a copy of my book” “Midnight’s Murder” for you or the mystery/historical fiction reader in your life this holiday season (links down below), then check out these locations yourself the next time you’re in Chicago.
As always, "Stay Safe and Keep Reading!"
